Grab your flip-flops, slap on some sunscreen, and join us for another phin-tastic morning with MERR as we help count dolphins along our beautiful Delaware coast!

Observation Post OP6a – South Side of Indian River Inlet
(Just steps away from the Big Chill Beach Club!)
We’re returning to our favorite spot for this important community science project, and we need your sharp eyes and dolphin-counting skills.
What do you need to bring?
A beach chair
Sunscreen (because nobody wants to look like a boiled lobster)
A hat and sunglasses
Water or your favorite beach beverage
Your ability to count: "One, two, three… fins to the left!"
No math degree required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to help protect our amazing marine neighbors.
Picture this: a beautiful summer morning with salty air, ocean breezes, fellow Parrot Heads, and dolphins putting on a show offshore. It’s the perfect blend of conservation, camaraderie, and coastal fun.

After the count, we’ll migrate like a flock of tropical birds up to the Big Chill Beach Club for lunch, cold beverages, and a little post-count storytelling.
Please remember that we’ll be inside a Delaware State Park, so you may need to show your State Park Pass or purchase a Day Pass upon entry.
