  The Milton St. Patrick’s Day Parade is on Sunday, March 8, and we are participating once again!

  The parade starts at 2:00 p.m. We'll meet at 1:00 p.m. at Palmer St. and Bay Ave to organize. Palmer St. runs between Rt 16 and Bay Ave. 

  Our theme this year is:
  ‍☠️ Pirates of the Emerald Coast – Shiver Me Shamrocks! ☘️

  Think Jimmy Buffett meets salty sea dogs with a little Irish luck mixed in. We’re sailing the emerald seas in search of lost margaritas, hidden treasure, and the perfect parade party.

  Please wear your most festive St. Patty’s, pirate, and/or Parrot Head gear. See below for some fun Parrot Head / Pirate suggestions:

  • Pirate hats, eye patches, bandanas
  • Green leis, beads, and shamrocks
  • Tropical shirts with pirate flair
  • Parrot-themed gear
  • Grass skirts + boots (why not?)
  • Anything that screams “Shiver Me Shamrocks!”

  See below for some suggestions. (These are just suggestions. Get creative!!)

  Our truck will have a large flag and music playing on the tailgate. We will march behind the truck and hand out beads and candy to the crowd. There is also a nice banner to lead our group, and we will have an all-around great time.

  The party continues after the parade at Irish Eyes in Milton. We need a few people who are willing to break off from our group as we get to Irish Eyes to grab some tables for us.

• Beach Grass Planting

  We will be assisting DNREC in their Annual Beach Grass Planting on Saturday, March 21 from 9 a.m. - Noon. It's just three hours, but we should be done before that.

  Delaware Seashore State Park, North of Inlet (click for map)

  We have been assigned to the northeast side of the bridge at Indian River Inlet. 

  Please meet at North Day Use Parking Area (click above for map) and be sure to sign in with Becky & Rob Knowles no later than 9:00 a.m. Our team leader will then give instructions on the proper planting techniques and show us to our planting site. 

  We have “state of the art” planting sticks that will make the job quick and easy - one person pokes the hole and two people can plant. Gardening gloves are also helpful. 

  This is a rain or shine event, so hope for
  nice weather but also be prepared!

  Then on to the fun part: Once we finish planting, we will gather at The Starboard in Dewey for a beverage (or two) and brunch. 

  This event is open to anyone who wants to join us. Please be sure to register your guests. This is a great way for friends and family to learn what the DSPHC is all about.
