Every year the DSPHC volunteers to run a water station at the Coastal Delaware Running Festival. If you helped in the past, you know it is a lot of fun (even though it is early)! You get a t-shirt, you get to go to the post-race party, and you can help runners have a phin-tastic race! So, come out and volunteer to hand out water and Gatorade, cheer on the runners, and have a great time! Our water stations help runners in three races - marathon, 1/2 marathon, and 9k. We will be helping out on April 14th and meeting at the Gordon's Pond Parking Area, Cape Henlopen State Park in Rehoboth Beach. There should be plenty of parking and there will be porta-potties at our station (along with the park-maintained ones).
It is an early morning, and I won't pretend it isn't. But we will have music playing and coffee and donuts to keep that energy level up! The marathon starts at 7:00am so volunteers will need to be there between 6:00 and 6:15 to get everything prepped and ready to go. The majority of the runners will be through by about 9:30, but there will be a few slower 1/2 marathoners passing through after that. Hopefully we should be finished around 10:30. Annnnd... then we get to head to the afterparty when we are done! It is lots of fun!
